  • Confidentiality: understanding of different folks coming from many backgrounds and cultures. be curious, not judgmental.
  • Non-male members: trust that they will chime in when they decide. Resist the urge to put them on the spot or ask them to speak for all women.

Common Statements

  • I’ve seen times when I think women are, intentionally or unintentionally, not being treated equally
  • Trying to get more women into companies means lowering the bar
  • I sometimes unintentionally act in biased ways towards women
  • Since I unfairly benefit in my career from being a man, it is my duty to do something to address the problem
  • I know women have been discriminated against historically, but that doesn’t mean men should have to do something to make up for it now
