ORIENTATION WEEK

  • Begin getting sign-ups for new members and newsletter
  • Membership value and responsibilities clearly articulated

MONTH 1 : WEEKS 1-2

  • First newsletter of year goes out. Continue newsletter from here on.
  • Begin identifying first years for club leadership. Pay special attention to getting at least one advocate from each cohort / class-segment

MONTH 1 : WEEKS 3-4

  • Have first event – Club kickoff. Small group discussions or movie screening.

MONTH 2

  • Hold informal lunch meeting to talk about current events
  • Pass out campus allyship guide
  • Continue sending one short educational email per week

MONTH 3

  • Hold structured event: scenarios; fishbowl discussion
  • Continue sending one short educational email per week

WINTER BREAK

  • Give dedicated members the prompt to start an inclusivity conversation with classmates on a trip. Bonus points for those who tie in their trip location to the subject matter.

MONTH 4

  • Hold informal lunch meeting to talk about current events
  • Continue sending one short educational email per week
  • Begin prepping first year leaders to take over duties

MONTH 5

  • Hold structured event
  • Continue sending one short educational email per week

MONTH 6

  • Club info handed out w/ postcards
  • Club announced during some part of orientation
  • First years have taken over club duties, second years available to help
